It is really an unknown as not enough independent studies have been done as yet. My common sense would be when the adult teeth have all fully erupted which could be somewhere in the mid-teens.
There are really no STRICT contraindications to tooth whitening at any age. Things to keep in mind are:
1) Young teeth can be more sensitive. Don’t overdo it at first.
2) Why are the teeth not white? Young teeth should be reasonably white. Consult your dentist because there could be a very good reason if they are not.
3) Encourage young teens to focus on keeping their teeth clean. Look at getting a good electric toothbrush to help keep the stains away.
